While these children are drawn to digital products, their ability to navigate full functionality is limited.

This highlights the need for simplified interfaces and potentially, supportive guidance to ensure a smooth user experience.

Playful Doodles,

Lighthearted Mood

My focus is on creating a tool that Parents will use primarily to support and develop their children with IDD.

A Bridge Between Worlds

Introducing

Doodle

Fun and simple design with bold shapes, playful doodles, and bright colors to keep things clear and engaging.

UI style inspired from Brutalism Design style and Hand drawn scribbles

Establishing routines proves difficult for children with IDD (ASD, Down Syndrome) due to limited focus and developmental factors, leading to disruptions in their daily lives.

Redefinging The Problem

Routine Activities

Habit Formation

Visual Cues

Motion Sensitive

Repetitive Actions help them inculcate any activity in their behavioral nature

Learning routines require more repetition for children with short attention spans.

e.g. Personal Grooming, Basic ettiquttes, Names and Locations

Limited memory make repetition key for learning routines.

TheyLikeToPaint

LikeToCookOmelettes

FeelTheMusic!!!

Talking to users gave me great ideas.

So I mapped it out for future use.

Conversed with 14 Parents

Parents shared heartwarming stories highlighting their child's unique ways of expression

Experience - Parent sharing a memory of their 10 year old Autistic daughter

"She likes to dance a lot. She does not know the actual words but through actions now we know which channel she wants to put on the TV.

She likes to watch and dance on music videos on 9XM channel. She does not understand the lyrics or words but does enjoy the tunes and dance performances on TV"

Conversed with 8 Teachers

Despite varied learning paces, teachers juggle introducing new topics and engaging all students, including those with diverse needs.

Experiences - Teacher sharing an experience of their class of 20 students.

"They have very less attention span and it is very hard to teach them but what they all have in common is having Fun. They will find different games or just different actions that would be fun.

We try to introduce newer activities in learning matching the activities that they do so it has a learning curve as well as they have fun doing it."

Engaging with 40+ enthusiastic students!

  • The moment I entered their classrooms they all got up and greeted me as the school had taught.

(Manners and Basic greetings are taught to them)

  • While interacting I observed that they react and identify visual based elements a lot faster.

(Photos of fruits and vegetables used to teach their names)

  • They have emotional intelleligence but can't use right emotions at the right situations.

(They laugh at some serious situations)
